How the puzzles are made
Every puzzle is freshly generated and then checked by three independently written checking programs. A puzzle is only published when all three agree it has exactly one solution and agree on its difficulty: easy puzzles need only singles, medium puzzles need pairs, triples or locked candidates, and hard puzzles need an X-Wing, Swordfish, XY-Wing or colouring — but never guessing.
